The Soft Bulletin Turns 10 - MP3 - Stereogum
This is my favorite album of all time.  It turned 10 yesterday.  Stereogum puts it best, “It’s somehow welcoming, chilly, lonesome, communal, psychedelic, and down home at the same time.”  I saw the Lips on The Soft Bulletin tour twice in 2000, once at Ziggy’s in Winston Salem and once at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro.  They were both headphone concerts and were unforgettable communal experiences.  Wayne’s crazy participatory ideas were a big influence on Improv Everywhere.  The Mp3 Experiments are not too far removed from The Parking Lot Experiments or The Boombox Experiments.  Come out Saturday and see for yourself.
