YouTube is really smart, because in the “Recommended for You” section on the homepage tonight, they thought I might like this video.  Yes.

I’ve seen the excellent documentary on The Flaming Lips as well as their videos from this era, but it’s super cool to see a fan-made video of a what looks like a pretty humble radio station festival gig in San Francisco.

I love this song.  It’s crazy that Ronald plays feedback for 30 seconds to start it, and it’s super cool to see that even in 1995 they were trying to add fun shit to their shows— the crappy bubble machine is a sign of bigger and better things to come.
