There’s an article on pranksters in the new Reader’s Digest that features John Hargrave, Tom Mabe, Streeter Seidell, and me. We spent hours posing for an elaborate group shot, and then the photographer Andrew Brusso took some individual ones as well. I usually get annoyed when a photographer wants to take “comedy” photos and have me hold something cliche like a rubber chicken, but Andrew knew how to take a “comedy” photo that also looks fucking cool.

Peter Gabriel’s cover of The Magnetic Field’s “Book of Love.” Stunningly beautiful. This track has been around since he recorded it for a soundtrack in 2004 (and apparently it was used in the Scrubs series finale.) I hadn’t heard it until I got his newly released covers album, which I highly recommend.

(The video above is fan made and crappy, but the song still sounds good.)

I’ve probably had a dozen friends get their email hacked in the last two weeks. Some of them were old college and high school friends who aren’t particularly Internet savvy, but more than a few were people who I wouldn’t expect it to ever happen to. I’ve seen it happen to gmail, yahoo, aol, and hotmail accounts.

I’m curious how it happens. Are you somehow tricked into giving away your password at a bogus login page? My friends who have been hacked all claim they have no idea what they did.

If anyone reading this on tumblr has ever been hacked before, how did it happen?

I was a pretty huge SBTB fan in high school. Like most people my age I watched it at least two episodes on TBS every day after school. I’m so glad someone made this compilation video, because I used to think it was so funny how often Belding said, “Hey hey hey hey what is going on here?” By the way, Dennis Haskins is a nice dude.

My family was an early adopter of the VCR. We had one of the top-loading ones with the big buttons you had to push down. My dad had one VHS tape dedicated to recording videos off of MTV. He would hit record quickly if a good video came on. The tape probably had 30 videos on it eventually, and this was one of them. I probably saw this video 500 times between when I was 4 years old.
